The most recent iteration of this protocol is known as CPMS, or Centralized Charging Point Management System. It is a widely accepted standard that offers a standardized means of communication between EV chargers and central systems, such as back-office systems, network operators, and service providers.
CPMS allows for remote management of EV chargers, including starting and stopping charging sessions, setting tariffs and monitoring the status of the charger.
CPMS allows for more flexible and user-friendly payment options, including contactless payments, and also provides customers with detailed information about their charging session, including energy consumption and cost.
CPMS provides a more open and interoperable communication standard which allows for better integration of different systems and allows for easy access to charging stations for all users.
